Cindy Liliana Gonzalez earned a Master's degree in Ministry from Saint John's School of Theology and Seminary, in Collegeville, Minnesota. She currently teaches family ministry as part of the Emmaus Institute. Her formation is centered on the Benedictine tradition of hospitality, welcoming all as Christ (RB 53.1).

Cindy Liliana Gonzalez also has a second Master's degree in Education from the University of Minnesota, focusing on parent and family education.

Cindy identifies as Chicana having grown up in Los Angeles, California, and spending the summers of her youth with her maternal aunts in Tijuana, Mexico. Cindy currently lives in Los Angeles, California, with her husband and son.

Cindy se identifica así misma como Chicana ya que creció en Los Ángeles California y pasaba los veranos de su juventud con su familia en Tijuana, México. Actualmente Cindy vive en Los Angeles, California con su esposo y hijo.
